Advice please - ds (2.6) is reaching new heights in fussiness. He used to have a reasonable diet but now anything that has the slightest look of having another food mixed in with it, even a bloody SPECK, is rejected. Do I just keep presenting him with the same stuff or give him plain food? He will eat fish like salmon for example but now won't eat ham as won't touch it if it has any lines of fat in it. Between them ds and dd are driving me insane as she is ill and won't eat anything except yoghurt at the moment. I feel like I might as well cook it and then throw it straight in the bin.......

How is he with head-ology? For instance, can you tell him that the bits (ie fat in ham) are the special bits that will make him big and strong? Or that Santa is watching and will be cross if he doesn't eat up?

He's certainly very imaginative (he bites toast into animal shapes and tells you what animal it is for example) but this sort of thing doesn't tend to work with him.

Can you get him to make faces in, say, mashed potato - so at least he gets used to bits in food - peas for eyes, carrot for nose, let him sprinkle dried parsley for hair, etc. Then have a game about which part of the face he's made he's going to eat first. Only an idea but it'd be a start...
