first birthday help

My sons 1 in a couple of weeks and I don't know what to do he had a big christening in February so only want to do something small. He's got friends from baby group over in the morning for a picnic party for an hour but wanted to do something in afternoon early evening with family but don't know wat to do. Any suggestions would be great.

Just invite people over for wine and snacks (tortilla crisps, dips etc) maybe?

I have only made a couple of friends at baby groups so we will just be doing a small kiddy thing and then leaving it as open house for adult friends and family for the afternoon so people can come and gone they please. Will just be doing snacks and drinks really
