Can she pick things up?

If so just put some soft food on her tray and let her feed herself.

Like mashed potato, carrot, swede, parsnip, yams, small bits of banana,

You can also try loading up the spoon and letting her try to put it in her mouth. If she likes this, then you can have a spoon each. For each one she is trying to get in, you can usually get a couple in yourself. Also while she is trying to feed herself finger food, you could try getting some spoonfuls in.

Have you tried eating some yourself? If there are other people around eating it makes them much readier to.

Also we distrct DS by shaking keys/toys above his head - as he looks up, his mouth opens.......

AND - cliche but the "here comes the puffa train, chuff, chuff, chuff" etc works with him (especially if we go "BING!" as we reach his mouth)
