Ds2 chatting with strangers on minecraft PC multiplayer

Ds2 (8) just told me about this.

Obviously I have told him to stop and have explained why.

What next steps should I take? Can I change the settings so he can only talk to classmates whose ID he already knows? If so, could someone talk me through this?

Thanks in advance.

Yes we didn't realise they couldn't talk to others on games on the x-box, had heard DS chatting but stupidly assumed he was talking to his pals ( all neighbours children are on the same game ), but no he was befriending everyone who asked.

Done the same as you and told him to stop and delete everyone except the friends we physically know - he has done that, but I don't think there is anyway of changing the settings if they have accepted the other people as friends.

Good luck - it's a minefield ( or craft) out there in cyber world !

This is why our x-box isn't connected to the internet. It was the only way to be sure our 5yo is safe playing his favourite games.

The server idea sounds great. His older brother (11) suggested this independently too.

Thank you for your help.
