18 month old too early to potty train

Surely 18 months old is too soon to potty train? My ds has recently started telling me when he has done a poo in his nappy and has also started saying wee wee too. Last night when he was in the bath he said poo, then stood up and done a poo in the bath , bless. Does this mean he could be getting ready for potty training?

Yes aideesmum a little too early just yet. Hes just letting you know that he is aware that he knows the names of these things hes doing. My ds is 27 months and has been potty training for about 8 weeks now and has only just started doing poohs on his potty. Take it slowly or hell on regress as my ds2 did and went back to wetting his bed after being dry and clean for about 3 years.
