School exclusion after diarrhoea

Hi

My reception child had an uncontrollable bout of diarrhoea yesterday morning. It lasted an hour. He did end up in pull ups. All done by 9am and nothing all day.

I kept him off school yesterday and today to adhere to 48 hour rule. This evening after tea he had stomach pains and ran to the toilet and had very watery diarrhoea.

I am going to keep him off tomorrow as i don't want to risk him having an accident in school

If he is clear tomorrow would you keep off Thursday? It's bee two lots of runs in two days.

48 hours clear from diarrhoea so yes Thursday too.

No- 48 hours after last bout of diarrhoea would be clear to go in on Friday (unless he has any more)

It is 48 hours from the last incidence...Sounds nasty and yes not something you want spreading round school..hope he feels better soon

If no more diarrhoea then he can go back on Friday

Thanks all. I will keep him off until Friday. Luckily I only work part time. It was a nightmare when I was full time
