Newborn and day time sleeping

I have a 5 week old and she is very reluctant to nap in her cot during the day, prefering the pram or the bouncy chair and sometimes wont nap at all. Is this the norm? Should I be more persistent with trying to get her in the cot in the day?

my ds is now 14 weeks and has never slept in his cot during the day. Like your dd he loves being in his bouncy chair and has his naps in there and only goes in his cot at night time.
I also prefer this as it means i can keep an eye on him while im doing the housework plus he knows the difference between having a couple of hours in his chair and sleeping all night in his cot
