How much do babysitters get these days? Never used one before.

Two children under 7, they'll be asleep for the duration, they're good sleepers.

Babysitter is my nephew's ex boyfriend, so he's effectively family, still lodges with my Mum and so on. He's early 20s.

I've never had my children in the care of a babysitter before, so have no idea what the going rate is. Knowing him, he'll probably refuse to take the money anyway, buteo I need to strike a balance between not offending him by too low and not bankrupting myself !

What's the going rate for 3 hours on a Saturday night??

We pay one of DD's nursery workers £8 per hour, but I think for someone with no childcare qualifications like a neighbour or local teenager you could get away with £6/hour.

We pay 10 an hour, but live in London. We found a great sitter that cooks and cleans as well! Does this when kids r sleeping. She is the best!

Local teen takes 5 pound per hour but more if it is after midnight.

Our sitter is 17, lives local, had babysat before but not one so young (DD was under 1 the first time) she is doing childcare at college and was starting work in a nursery for a placement. We pay her £7 per hour and often round it up.

DD loves her, she is available at short notice and doesn't mind if we are late (and I rock up rather hammered) so I always like to make sure we pay her well.

She normally turns up just before DD goes to bed and we put her down before we leave although she occasionally will give DD dinner and put her down if we are going out.

£5/hr or £20 minimum

I'm past that stage now, but either of my dc would be happy with £5 an hour.
I'd take into account how they are going to get there / get home, but other than that it sounds like a doddle. tbh, either of mine would happily do that for a tenner.
