How many in a day is normal?

My 5 week old usually does one a day, in the evening. (Regular as clockwork for the last 5 weeks).

Today he has done 3 in a 2 hour period and seems to be a little whingey. Is this normal?

I don't know in general, but that was normal for us. I think the Hv asks about colour and consistency, but that number is pretty regular I think

He might have a little bit of a bug. You could ring surgery for advice/reassurance?

Normal for us! We'll have one a day for a few days, then nothing for a few days, then about five in one day very close together! I think their little tummies are just changing all the time. He might be more uncomfortable as often they have to strain to poo, even though it's so soft.

I would keep an eye on it & normal but ring doctor if you are worried.

Does the poop look normal colour and consistency? You can check it here: www.babycentre.co.uk/baby-poo-photos#/0
