Bilingual toddler twin boys

Does anyone have any experience with bilingual twins? I speak in Italian to my husband and English to our 29 month-old twin boys. We live in Italy and my husband speaks in regional dialect to them... They don't talk yet (at least they don't say anything comprehensible) and I'm wondering if this is more due to the fact that they are twins or the fact that they are having to assimilate three languages. Or could both combined factors mean they won't be talking until they're about four or five ?

apparently boys are slower that girls, and twins are often slower than singles, and multilingual can be slower that only one language - so I guess you should not be surprised or worried if your two seem a bit slower than their contempories. Twins are also known for making up their own languages (mine didn't do that though).

As long as they seem to be making progress over time, and seem to understand what you say to them I would not be too bothered. Before long they will be nattering all the time.
