I'll get my people to talk to his and see what we can thrash out (all this legal shenanigans has brought out the brief in me again)

Am I allowed to join in again? Potty training with dd has been a huge disaster (think I tried with your Easter 'intake'). Dd ASKS to go at nursery (either on the potty or toilet) but has not once in all that time gone at home. We had one poo in the potty a few days ago but no other luck.
I'm depserate. PLease help!!!!

melrose · 09/08/2006 10:39

I think I may have to bite the bullet and join you, DS 2.2.

fuzzlepelts · 09/08/2006 11:00

Hi Cod, am I allowed to rejoin, Think we are ready for this - Failed miserably at Easter but found the thread and advice soooooo supportive! Might have to join a bit late as not back from hols until 11th Sept.

Bozza · 09/08/2006 11:04

By nighttime training I mean stop putting nappies on. Save myself 15p a night. They are nearly always dry but not doing it before we go on holiday because of sod's law.

alexsmilitantmum · 09/08/2006 11:10

can't wait that long. we are already in the thick of it and i'm hating every minute.
off to disneyland at the weekend-what on earth am i going to do with my ds who will go on the loo/potty quite happily as long as his nether regions are uncovered.put a pair of pants on him and he is like a puppy-widdling everywhere.
that could cause some interesting scenes in the magic kingdom!

elliott · 09/08/2006 11:35

We are also in the thick of it and desperately hoping I won't be in need of further support by 11 Sept!
Dare I mention that progress is being made at the moment...

Cod, how about twin boys? I tried last week and failed miserably. The experience has put me off and I'm leaving it until September when I think I will be able to muster up the courage to try again. I was using a book by a certain Nobody as reference - I'll leave it that.

Do you think you can help pleassssssssssssssssssssssee?

CodGuevara · 09/08/2006 13:18

oh yes

OK, I'm in . Second week of September and onwards would be better for me.

CelluliteQueen · 09/08/2006 14:01

Cod, I am on day two with DS and not one pee or poo in potty so far. Bribing him to sit on potty with chocolate buttons. He sits for a bit but all the action happens in his big boy's pants.

Any advice other than to persevere? (and how long should I persevere for?). The thought of being a house-prisoner for any length of time is too depressing.

piglit · 09/08/2006 14:04

At what age do you recommend we do it? Ds1 is only 21 months and I was planning on leaving it a while but would appreciate your advice.

CodGuevara · 09/08/2006 19:37

piglit wait

CQ carry on

Thanks Cod. He did a tiny pee in the potty today and we made a big fuss but nothing since. As soon as he realises he is doing a wee he runs up to me for comfort so I take the brunt of it. Will start tomorrow afresh .

lunavix · 09/08/2006 20:45

me cod!

I kind of lost the last thread... we've kept sauntering on as although the temptation of nappies is high (ds only 2.3 plus being 38 weeks pg and feeling lazy) he's still the one leading it, he doesn't actually want nappies on.

We're doing okay, having accidents but there's generally a reason. My only deviation is that I put him in a nappy for naps, as not only does he seem to always poo in his sleep, he also still naps upwards of 3 hours some days...

OwainGlyndwr · 09/08/2006 21:08

When?

DD sat on toilet yday and pooed and I havent even started training her yet so may not need you cod

But yeah Ill join

CodGuevara · 09/08/2006 21:19

Ds2 will be 2 and a half by then but just about to start playgroup. Do you think I should leave it for a bit? (DS1 was an absolute nightmare to train btw....)
