1st Birthday

Hi all, it's my DS first birthday coming up. Any ideas what I can do, everyone is asking me.... And I have no idea:(

We brought dd a cake and just put it in front of her. The pics are amazing

Just had cake with family. Was lovely.

We asked everyone to give DD a copy of their favourite childhood book and write an inscription. So glad we did. She has shelf of beautiful books to grow into.

think itdepends what you want to do. my mum said for my first birthday both my grandmothers came over for tea and cake. for ds we had several versions of tea and cake, for in laws, and both sets of my parents. on the day ee took ds to pizza express and the aquarium and on the day after had two of hisd friends and their mums come for tea! think too many more people would have been overwhelming!

1st birthdays are about you normally

Not in a bad way but have a think how you feel, 12 ,months on, reflecting on pregnancy and birth? Do you want to be alone with DP/DH and DS or with family?

We did our own buffet of sandwiches and scones with pink fizz around our house, family and close friends of mine, nice birthday cake and lots of pics. This was a week before her birthday. On the day, it was just us 3 - I was v emotional!

We had a big party as it was after ds christening, and I HATED it!

Ds hated all the people there that he didn't know, I felt really emotional, everyone got drunk. It was rubbish!

Oh is 2nd birthday is next month and it's literally just me, ds and my mum. I'm hoping it will be much better!

Thanks guys, great suggestions! Think I will break it up in 2 as loads of people and don't want to overwhelm ds. So maybe just family and then friends the next day. Love the book idea!
