LOL just another marketing ploy to get us to spend money on stuff we don't need.

intergalacticwalrus · 06/08/2006 13:49

DP and I were talking about this earlier. Can just about see the point in pull ups, abut what's wrong with normal sodding nappies with tapes on.

intergalacticwalrus · 06/08/2006 13:52

Like nursing tops. Why? Whats wrong with a vest under a jumper?

Oh good, I did mean to ask

Did the boys love Bob?

1Baby1Bump · 06/08/2006 14:06

exactly what i thought when i saw the advert the other day.

i must rush out and buy some otherwise ds wont be able to walk anymore!

shazronnie · 06/08/2006 14:07

The Bob fair was favourite; DS1 woke up in the morning asking to go there, and went to bed saying "Bob fair closed now open again after big sleep."

WelshBoris · 06/08/2006 14:08

Im glad they enjoyed. Did you like the entertainment in the nights?

magnolia1 · 06/08/2006 14:29

These adverts always make me laugh!!!
They say the 'new' ones are better than the old ones.
So that means the old ones were crap right??

shazronnie · 06/08/2006 17:48

magnolia - that is exactly what I think! Just like dishwasher tablets where we are now on 33 in1 or something like that - how many things can a tablet do?

Welshboris - yes DH was quite taken with the Girls Aloud tribute act, and we spent some evenings just outside in the beer garden with the kids running around. We're seriously thinking of going again next year!

i dont buy the expensive dishwasher tablets, i add salt and rinse aid, and i dont particually care if my glasses are dull.

if my kids can walk in bulky tots bots no bother, then you dont special nappies do you?

shazronnie · 06/08/2006 18:16

i buy basic dishwasher tabs and basic nappies and my kids can eat off clean plates and walk (sometimes simultaneously!)

In defence of pull-ups. My toddler (nearly two) has days when she just will not stay still enough to get a tape nappy on but will happily step into a pull up. Each to their own, use what works for you.

Jennster · 29/11/2007 21:13

Whatever happened to sexed nappies? Do they still do them? DD pee like a boy (I think) in her tots bots anyway

eidsvold · 29/11/2007 21:18

when you have a five year old that still needs to be in nappies - walker nappies that are like pants are a godsend in terms of changing, cleaning up and getting her to work on dressing skills.

claireybraxtonhicks · 03/12/2007 15:27

The worst thing is that people believe them! When dd started walking one of the mums at toddler group said I'd have to stop using cloth and buy "toddler nappies". When I asked her what she meant she said I'd need pull ups or little walkers because they work differently for when babies are walking!

TheQueenOfQuotes · 03/12/2007 15:30

pull-ups are a godsend when you have a children that will undo their vest and sleepsuit - and undo the nappy.....but aren't quite advanced enough to pulls pants/nappy up and down

little walkers are great Best thing thats been invented thats how my daughter started potty training and i will be using them with ds when he is old enough

MrsBadger · 10/12/2007 16:55

how did the fact they're meant for walking help her potty train?
[not very clever emoticon]

bookofchristmascarolsmum · 10/12/2007 17:14

Pullups were great for me since my dd refused to lie down for nappy changes after she started walking. Her creche also accepted them as 'knickers'- a taped up nappy wouldn't have been allowed under their rules since they took about 6 children to the toilet in one go. I think it helped her toilet training a bit since she began to associate holding on for the loo and keeping your pants dry instead of having new ones everytime . Saved my carpets in the few months before I started her on knickers.

Wtf are 'walking nappies' though? I don't think babies mobility skills are impeded by any type of nappy myself .
