Which Formula Do You Think Tastes Best?

My 10 month old starts nursery full time next month so I am going to move on from breastfeeding and start giving formula.

I've just bought some SMA follow on milk and it tastes revolting! I understand that the baby probably doesn't mind so much but I really would feel happier feeding him something that I also think tastes nice. Am I weird?

So before I spend a load of dosh on different formulas... I was just wondering if any other mums might have any recommendations?

Thanks guys!!!!

We use aptamil. It smells a lot better than the sma we used to use. Haven't tasted it though!

Oh shit, sorry, just re read OP. Have no experience with follow on milk - still on 1 or hungry baby.

Cow and Gate certainly smells better than SMA ime

Someone told me Hipp Organic formula tastes most like breastmilk but I don't know first hand sorry.

They all taste awful to an adult palate, but so does breastmilk so I wouldn't worry!

They're all the same anyway - the regulations are so strict that they're only different boxes and marketing. If you're middle class use Aptamil Wink

You could just not bother with formula at all. If he'll be 11 months when at nursery, he could just have water whilst at nursery, or maybe cows milk (although not too much). You could still bfeed mornings and after nursery, and as usual on non-nursery days.

This is what I did with my ds who started nursery about the same age.

I found Hipp tastes the most similar to breast milk. I was too squeamish to try it so dh stepped up. He did grumble he wasn't allowed to drink from the source though.
Hipp is a pain to make up, as I found it clumped up something awful and just wouldn't stir in. We're onto Cow and gate now and dd seems to like it just fine when there isn't a boob on offer.

Thanks!

Yes ExBrightonBell I hadn't thought of that, I will still be breastfeeding before and after so perhaps he won't need much/ any anyway.

I only bought SMA because I liked the tin it came in! I think I'll try HIPP next!!!!

:-)
