When you fell pg with your second did you wait till the end of first trimester like first time round or were you happy to let people know earlier? DH and I have just found out so still very early but we are visiting my parents this weekend so not sure if I'll be able to keep quiet.

we planned to keep quiet until the 12 week scan but i had borderline Hyperemeisis and kept falling asleep (due to it being twins it turned out!) that i had to tell my parents (who had guessed anyway). Told them about 9 weeks. told everyone else after the scan.

if we have DC4 i would keep it quiet until the 12 week scan if at all possible, i like having the secret just between me and DH for a bit.

That's it, I love it being just mine and DHs secret. I had hypermesis last pg so hoping to not get it this time fingers crossed
If I wasn't visiting my mum I'd be ok with waiting, but I'm worried she will guess.

We waited until 12 week scan before we told anyone (other than work who I told earlier just in case anything happened and I was pretty sure I was going to get horrendous morning sickness like I did first time round and need time off - and I did).

I had a miscarriage at 10wks inbetween child 1 and 2, so I tended to spend the first 12 weeks trying not to get excited about having a baby in case it went awry.

We kept it quieter than with dc1. We didn't want DS finding out from anyone else, and didn't want him to know until everything looked like it was going to be ok.

How old is your elder one? Dd1 is nearly 5 and we kept Dc3 quiet until after the 20 week scan in case there was bad news. She is old enough that that type of news would really upset her.

Ds is only 8 months so will be none the wiser
