Farty 4 month old

Hiya...
My DS is 4 months old, and when he poos hes really loud! Sometimes I think hes filled his nappy to the brim, because its so farty, and theres only a little skiddy. On the other hand, sometimes his poo is really runny and does fill the nappy to the brim (and beyond!). Is it normal to have such a farty baby? He is BF on demand and feeds ALOT. He used to need winding alot, but thats calmed down alot... is it coming out of the other end now?

DD used to be quite farty, but then I didnt wind her much. She was never in any pain, and just posseted when i Burped her so didn't bother in the end.

yes, it is just how I remember Ds. Their tummies are still tiny. Maybe he is swallowing air when he BF? if you think he feeds a lot perhaps it would be possible for him to feed more efficiently, ie get more milk in fewer feeds. (Mind you, I think it always feels like a lot of feeding).Perhaps your HV could put you in touch with a BF specialist.

Hi, Newbie! My 6mth old is very farty, lol. At nite he seems worse and all i can hear down baby monitor is his farts, gives me a shock sometimes! He burps after his feeds quite easily but still windy. it doesnt normally bother him but if i see him squirming and he growls, i give him infacol or gripe water, helps it come out one end or another!!

He thinks it is hilarous to parp and has always been a bitter trumpety (might be the healthy fruit and veg he eats
