Weaning and nursery

Hi,

DD (15 months) will soon be starting nursery. Just half days, but 5 days a week. I also want her to wean sometime soon to make it easier to put her to bed etc. and to be sure ovulation returns to ttc no.2.

Overall I want to do what's best for her.

I've started trying weaning and she seems inconsolable. She obviously hates it and becomes very distraught and agitated trying to sleep without milk.

Should I carry on feeding her til she naturally weans, with the understanding that nursery will be a big shift and breastfeeding can help her through it? Or should I go ahead with weaning and think she'll be fine?

Really not sure what to do. I am not happy about sending her to nursery as it is but I need to work. I want to support her and carry on being as closely attached as possible.

Thanks
