In the last week or do my 7 yo DD has begun to be slightly smelly by the end of the day, I told her this was perfectly normal and that as she got older she would need to use deodorant and have more showers and that it happens to everyone. I'm not keen on starting her on something like sure when she is 7 but should I maybe start her on a natural deodorant or get her to shower every day? She seems very young for this Hmm

A quick shower every morning is a good thing teaches her to take care of herself. Boots sell a keep it fresh kids deodorant it's very gentle. You can make it fun and light hearted better to start up a new routine before summer starts. I wouldn't over think it. It's just the next step.

My dd is 9 but has been like this for maybe 1.5 or 2 years. It comes and goes so I presume it's hormonal. I'm usually fairly good at keeping it natural but ashamed to say I hadn't thought of the chemical side of using deodorant. I'll check out the Boots one. Thanks

Thanks! I know there's a few in boots that are more natural so will pick one up and make the shower part of the daily routine, she's my eldest and wasn't expecting this at 7.

My DD (aged 7) has been the same with sometimes being a bit pongy by the end of the day - I also thought it was early but was chatting with a small group of mums from school the other day and one of the other mums happened to mention her daughter having the same thing.
They're all year 3. I suspect the issue is common, but just not talked about much! Hope that is a little reassuring (it was for me!)
I was going to try the boots kids deodorant on recommendation of the other mum Smile
