I want to know everything about them. Where do I start? There aren't any libraries near me so it's a bit of a leap of faith. How many do I need? Where do I get them? Do I use a special kind of washing powder? And what about liners? Any help would be great :)

I used Motherease, but it was 10 years ago when I bought mine. Didn't use any special washing powder but did wash mine at 60. The liners I used were just from our local baby shop.

Excellent website is www.thenappylady.co.uk/ - lots of advice about the different types and how to use them.

Second the recommendation for The Nappy Lady. I filled out a questionnaire on there and she sent me recommendations - no pressure to buy from her (but I did).

Have been using cloth with DS1 for around 19 months and will use with DS2 when he arrives next month.

Got to go to work now but will try to get back later with more info!

Second vote for the nappy lady! You can fill in her questionnaire and she can advise you on the best kind(s) for your price range, drying facilities etc.
We use totsbots easy fits during the day and little lamb pocket nappies at night.
There is also a nappies section on here with lots of helpful advice.

Little Lamb are having a sale via their Facebook page if you decide to go with them. I love them, but it's a very personal choice

Good luck!
