Is any one else having a problem with their mother telling them how to potty train there child??? My son is 2.5 and is not interested in the potty, or toilet in the slighest!!

I keep telling her this but she just keeps going on at me that hes ready... I feel like she is just patronising me and that because this is my first and I am one of four that she feels she knows best!!!

Its driving me mad.... she even got him wearing pants over his nappy to get him use to it...

My MIL is the same. Everytime she rings she asks if he's potty trained yet but just like yours he has absolutely no interest whatsoever . He's 2.4 years and couldn't give toss.
This all started when he turned 1 - honestly! and featured her dangling him spatchcock chicken-style over a potty !!
I am all out in sympathy with you. I tend to smile and nod and repeat mantra-style 'he'll do it when he's ready'.

Sorry, I know this is stressful, but PMSL at the idea of her putting pants over his nappies 'to get him used to it'! She's barking!

Suspect this one calls for the smile and nod technique - don't get drawn into a discussion, just smile and nod every time she mentions it (or my mother tends to drop a topic if I just say 'yes mother/no mother/three bags full mother' - leaves her nothing to say).
