aren't babies meant to like bath time?

DD is 14 weeks & whilst not minding being in the bath for a short time, absolutely wails the house down when taken out & wrapped in a towel or dried. I have to feed her to calm her down, even if she's just been fed, and it normally takes 45 mins or more to get her fed/dried/dressed. It's not exactly the basis for a lovely bedtime routine. Anyone got any tips to help please? Thanks!

No idea - DS hated it too. Even at 5 a bath still doesn't calm him down, never has!

Have you tried warming the towel? Maybe she's cold.

I found my dd liked to just lie on a warm towel after her bath. I didn't wrap her in it just left her on the towel it was weird Grin

It's so common mainly until the can sit up right in a bath seat. I wrapped them in a towel and stuck them on the boob. I also used to blast my heating up 30 mins before bath time (winter babies ) so house was warm when we took them out the bath x

I think it varies - some love it, some hate it.
It's possibly the chilly feeling getting out she doesn't like?

Do/can you warm her towel on the radiator? Also lie her near a warm radiator so she feels warmer?

Hopefully she'll get used to it eventually x

We had the same problem. I got a Cuddledry towel, so the bath-to-cuddled-up warm time is a split second. They are pricey so I just have the one.

It worked a treat btw, forgot to say that part Grin

DD suddenly took against the baby bath around 3-4 months for no apparent reason, and was a serial bath refuser until she could sit up a bit more and we could take her in the big bath with one of us or a seat. She had got to the point of yelling as soon as age saw water, so I reintroduced her to it gradually by paddling her feet in the sink over a few nights before we took her into the big bath. Now she loves the bath and has a meltdown every night when it's time to get out!

DS loves the bath. Hated his baby bath, it was too small I think, adores his plastic shoe seat thing (what are they called?).
He used to scream when getting out too. He doesn't now because I don't lift him out and lie him down. Instead I lay the towel across my chest and sort of tuck it under my chin, then carefully reach into the bath and lift him out so his back is against my chest. I can hold him securely in one arm while wrapping the towel round him then I turn him round, wrapped in a parcel and give him lots of kisses smiles and cuddles. He doesn't cry at all. It's probably not well described, hope it makes sense!
