DS is 2.4, started P/T a fortnight ago.

He has excellent control and we have not had many accidents, as long as I ask him to go & try on the potty. He poos in the potty if I can get to him in time, is dry for his naps, will use the "big loo" if out, and seems to "get" the whole thing...except - he is not asking to go, at all.

I think he does know he needs to go. He definitely does for poos. He has the verbal skills.

How can I encourage him to start asking me? Will he do it of his own accord? If he doesn;t, does it mean he wasn;t really ready?

I'm darned if I'm going back to nappies tbh.

In most respects he's doing really well, but there are times when I'm distracted getting tea or whatever and he'll just do it where he stands.

My DS is almost 5 & my other DS nearly 2, DS1 no problems, DS2 not fully PT him yet but while it warm lettin him loose and congratulatin him when done a wee. If u'r DS has the control then is ready, so dont worry 'bout it bein too sn. Get him to try tellin u thru e's fave toy, sayin that 'bob T builder needs a wee' might turn into more fun for him

That's an idea Lems, I'll give it a go.
