BumGenius Elementals - anyone use these?

And can you give me your honest opinion on:

1. fit - re: really birth to potty?
2. containment: any leaky poos or wees?
3. trying time: will I HAVE to use a tumble dryer?
4. how long do they last before they leak wee?

The nappy lady recommended these to me. So, after trying a couple, I got bloody loads of them and, although they are a good nappy, I really don't think they are as good as the price tag makes you want them to be.

They have fit my DD as a newborn and still fit my average-sized 2.5yr old and there has never been a poo leak. They do leak wee though after about 2-3hrs. A good thing with them is that you can boost them, so with an alva baby bamboo booster, they do a good four hours and with a little weeds hemp booster, they last my toddler overnight. They dry overnight on a radiator or in about a day and a half on an airer.

What I think makes them not so great is that they are quite faffy. After washing, the cotton needs straightening and folding so that it lies flat in the nappy, and then you need a fleece liner because otherwise the cotton is very wet against the skin. So, with all of this, you may as well being stuffing a pocket I think. After forking out on the Elementals, I then got a few alva baby pockets direct from their website (alvababy.com) and I think they are brilliant (particularly the ones with a double row of poppers) and a far better spend of money - they are 1/3 of the price - they also never leak and can last overnight stuffed with 4 of their bamboo boosters (about 10 for £15 I think???). After 8 months' use, only one has been a dud with rubbish PUL.
