Nits

We've treated everyone with Hedrin, and combed through. I did the two DDs and DH did me. Unfortunately, while the DDs seem to be clear, I am still itchy. Have done myself again with Hedrin, and yes, still itching.

I was just wondering if there is something different about the Nitty Gritty comb? We have a Nit comb (made by Hedrin) which is what we've been using.

I have a strong suspicion it was more to do with DH's technique Hmm on my long hair than a failure of the Hedrin.

Any advice?

Oh, I also did DH's short hair. The girls have chin length bobs and very fine hair, so I appreciate my job was a lot easier than DH's.

The itching doesn't always stop immediately as the bites have to heal.
Also, I would recommend going regularly through your own hair as it is easier to know that everywhere has been combed through when you do it yourself (or that's what I found) and you can do it whenever you remember (or itch).

Thanks juule

Are you the MNer with many many children? I bet a nit outbreak in your house is like a military operation - it was bad enough here with 4 of us! Smile

Bites are a wound.. They have to heal. Plus it's the thought of things roaming don't help the itch.

Grin I have a few children, yes.
Fortunately, we seem to be past the headlice stage now. There is life after nits YayGrin

I took some antihistamine as I was itchy many days after the last bug was executed.

If you are still itching after a few days and decide to comb again, I was very impressed with the Nitty Gritty comb. I used a normal plastic nit comb with conditioner to get the knots out of 2 of my DSs' curly hair and even when nothing was showing up on that comb, the Nitty Gritty then picked up eggs and lice.

It was no use for me though as my hair is just so thick that it just pulled it out.
