Scar tissue

Hi, my little boy was born via emergency c-section at 36+2 after several attempt with a cup to help him out, which left him with a nasty graze on his head,he is now left with quite a bit patch of scar tissue on his head and been told that he won't grow hair there, my mum partner and sister in law have said to speak to a solicitor because he may need a hair transplant in the future, and I'm not entirely sure, because I don't think we will have a case because it's what they have to do isn't it ? I will make sure he isn't self conscious about this wen growing up but I'm just unsure :-/

You would be better posting in legal, but to have a case you would have to show that the hospital was negligent in their actions. Presumably they tried using a ventouse as it would be the quickest way to have got him out safely (if it had worked) so better they tried to and left him with a scar than didn't take any action and risked his life? So what they did wasn't negligent, therefore you have no case?

Did you sign a consent form before your caesarean? Quite often under risks it'll say 'marks to baby', which effectively covers the surgeon.

Obviously it's not nice to see this on your new previous baby. But better they got him out & he's alive with no disabilities, then the obstetrician didn't intervene & you had a stillbirth.

I did for my caesarean but not for the cup ? They tried 6 times with the cup which has caused the scaring, and tried manually turning him before me section, I wanted to ask because I believe tree is nothing there but as I said my partner and mum have been going on at me when I believe they did what they had to do
