Morning

My two year old fell this morning and split his chin open. Took him to a&e who glued and steri stripped the wound. They then put a dressing over.

Problem is ds is a dribbler. I have changed the dressing five times so far and the Steri strips are wet already. Micro pore and dressings are just gaping and coming off.

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Mine did this too at when a toddler.

I ended up adding more steri strips and taking the ones off that were coming away. Then stuck a large water proof plaster (type that you can wear in water is good) over the whole lot. It did heal ok thank God!

Thank you. Was it a normal plaster and not a dressing? I'll call to the chemist today

I have done the same for my son when he split his chin at a similar age. A large waterproof (but breathable) plaster over the steri-stripped wound. It did the trick really well and I think I only needed to replace it once. Good luck!

It was a normal plaster.
