Shower help!

When DH is not around and I shower I have been taking my 19 wk old with me and putting him in his bouncy chair. The new problem is he has outgrown his bouncy chair. I have a playpen and a jumperoo which I put him in when I need to run around the house or nip to the loo but am a bit worried about leaving him in the playpen unsupervised for me to have even the quickest of showers. What do you lot do with your babies whilst you have your showers?
Thanks in advance

I used to have showers when DH was there in the morning (before he went to work) but if that wasn't possible, I'd just wait until DS2 had went for a nap and shower then. If I didn't want to wait, I'd just pick a time my son was content and I'd have him in the bedroom in his cot while I nipped next door for a super quick shower.

Our bathroom is quite small so I never took him in there with me.

DS1 was a bit more 'high maintenance' as a baby, so I often didn't take a shower until my DH came home from work :-)

In the early days ds luckily would nap at about 9am & i would have one then. Later on I either left ds in his cot with some toys or in the hall outside the bathroom with the door open & some toys (obviously a stair gate was in place).

I put dd in her babybjorn bouncy chair which is 0-2yrs and up to 13kg. It's one of my best buys for both my children. She's 98th centile for length and in 12-18m clothes at 8m and she's still safe and contained well.

At the age she is now, confidently rolling and sitting by herself I'd have no qualms about leaving her in her cot for a 5 min shower. So the bouncer is a great but expensive option for you!

A cot or a playpen should be safe for your little one...or strapped in the reclined buggy if your bathroom is downstairs and too far away from his cot for you to feel comfortable.

It is not bad for little ones to be on their own for a short time...it is all part of learning that Mum/Dad will come back even if they are not in sight. And in the long term playing one ones own in a safe placefor an age appropriate amount of time is very very desirable.

I used this bath seat inside the bath facing me then brought him under the water with me, we still shower together it's much easier than trying to rush if they are in another room.

I put my son back in his cot for a wriggle. assuming it was warm enough I jsut left him in his nappy as that was especially exciting!

It meant I could take the monitor into the bathroom with me and watch him, but also he quickly became really happy to play alone in his cot which is a lifesaver when he wakes up at 5am!!

First baby - took him everywhere including putting bouncy chair in bathroom etc
Second baby - realised he didn't need to be everywhere with me , I shower in the morning while baby us either in his Moses basket , bouncy chair or car seat , whichever is up the stairs . Put some music on for him or have his toy bar clipped in on his bouncy chair so he can amuse himself
Really recommend baby swing too my LO loves it

Thanks for all the replies I'm trying my hardest to not make him a PFB! I left him in his playpen this morning whilst I showered and he didn't make a sound and was happily playing with his toys and watching Mickey Mouse!
