Only have ds right now, but now the birth has faded were keen to go with our plan of getting pregnant when ds is 6 months old. Is this doable (recognise will be hard), or are we just insane?

I had my youngests a year apart and i actually found it easier than with the others as i was still in baby mode, if you know what i mean. It is managable you just need a good routine and lots of help

11 month gap here.
Am finding It difficult. But my heart melts when ds1 (15months), leans over to give baby a kiss.
I physically found being preg with a baby to look after hard.
I would really suggest to try and get as fit as possible in the 5months until you start ttc. With PG1 I was exercising and walking a lot until 7months. But then did nothing, well actually still haven't done much and this I think is the main reason I struggled in preg2.

I had a 16 month gap between my first two & SIL has a 13 month gap between hers. Both of us found it hard work & tiring at first, but don't have any regrets. They are all almost grown up now & very close, especially mine who are both boys. I didn't find the second pg any more difficult than the first, but the first 6 months of DS2's life are a bit of a blur! We didn't expect them to be so close in age - it took almost a year to get pg with DS1 but I conceived the first time of trying with DS2. I didn't find that DS1 got left out - he was so young when DS2 arrived he just accepted it & there were no jealousy issues.

GTbaby I agree with you dc4 was my most exhausting pregnancy, got lot more aches and pains than the others aswell and generally felt unwell alot, think your right aswell as i got pregnant so soon my body hadnt repaired and not had chance to loose the other baby weight
