Hello,

How can I help him? He has his fist in his mouth the whole time, bubbles.
I got teetha gel. I don't know has it helped much. He is not into the plastic teether things

Thank you so much for any advice

calpol and nurofen!

14 weeks! Wow, that's early. Are you sure it is teething?

DD cut her first tooth at 12 months (which I know is late)

mine was teething at 14 weeks. Now has 14 teeth at just over 1!

DS was an early teether had all his teeth bar his last 4 molars by just over a year, calpol is the only thing that worked for DS and even then not always and some ice cream once he was older to cool his mouth. We are just waiting for these last 4 now.

Is he in pain with it?

Mine has been teething for few weeks (16wks now) and likes to chew on a soft tip feeding spoon and muslim cloths. Mine dosn't seem to be in pain/discomfort though.

Than you all. I got him baby nurofen and haven't used it much but he was much better after it yesterday. He is sucking on his fingers a lot. I will get one of those spoons. The big teether is no good.

I think he has slight pain but not constantly. He does seem very young for all this though.

Funny I noticed him putting the bib in his mouth too when I think of it.

Teething granules are amazing. I get them from boots for under a fiver

purplemurple1 · 24/12/2013 11:24

Yes mine just seems to lick the end of the teather as its too big for him.

DontstepontheBaubles · 24/12/2013 11:47

Both mine had 4 teeth by 4 months and all of them by about 18 months. Nightmare at the time.

Bonjela, teetha sachets and calpol were my friends.

fists in mouths doesn't definitely mean teething. it can mean they have just learnt to put their fist in their mouth. Remember babies are initially orally fixated.

having said that dd1 had a tooth by that age, so it could be.

lolalotta · 24/12/2013 17:57

Are bubbles a sign if teething? My 17 week old has been bubbling at the mouth, plus she has been sucking the sleeve of her baby grow until it is soaked!

Yaya70 · 24/12/2013 18:52

Anbesol liquid (not gel) is the best thing I found for teething. You can get it from the chemist but you'll need to ask for it.

NotSureImDoingThisRight · 25/12/2013 11:26

My DD was a very early teether had first tooth at 13 weeks and now at 13 months has all but the back four molars. I found that the calpol ibuprofen was vert good and also the baby bonjela to soothe the gums
