[shrugs]

Only trying to help. Some of us have older kids and have tried stuff that has worked and stuff that hasn't worked.

I don't think that those who use naughty step are bad parents, or judge them for it. I tried it, didn't do much for us, so we tried something else and that worked better.

Do what you want.

Naughty step worked really well for ds2 (now 10) but not for ds1 (19) or the toddler. If it works for your child like it did for ds2 thats good.

Well we jokingly call it the baby cage

We also have back pack reins, it just seemed safer when pushing the pushchair and having a 2.4 year old walking.

Ive never tried a mat though, that sounds like a good idea, the hv did mention it when I asked her advice about what to do when the baby was first born and ds 3, then 23 months was misbehaving while I was bf.

Minnieistheglittermouse · 20/12/2013 22:19

Sorry I'm v confused. Are you panicking because baby was fed butter? That's weird

Or because toddler fed baby anything? That's marginally more understandable.

AnyFuckerWillDo · 20/12/2013 22:27

I was panicking because baby was fed butter. Butter high fats at the tender age of 14 weeks. Turns out to give him the runs that night but seems ok since. X

One of mine had been 'fed'by an older sibling before we left the postnatal ward! Do I win?

Your baby will be fine it's a hazard of older siblings, most people will have at least one story! HV/GP would probably just reassure you if you rang her Smile

Ineedanewone · 20/12/2013 22:28

Butter! Shmutter, that's nothing , my dd3 then 18 months fed my 10 day old cat food!
We were all in the kitchen, he was in the baby chair at my feet as I was stood at the cooker.
I managed to get most of it out, but as he is now 15 it had marginal long term effect although perhaps it could explain his 'Kevin the teenager' moments.

I remember giving my dsis a drink of juice, not sure how old she was but I knew I wasnt supposed to. I just thought mum was being mean and she'd like it

AnyFuckerWillDo · 20/12/2013 22:43

Why weird Minnie?

This entire thread is weird! Sorry he suffered that night but glad he's been ok since. Please be assured that your opinion was perfectly fine and your concern understandable but some of the replies have bee strange!
