I'm fairly sure my 9 week old DD is ALREADY starting to teeth :( she's constantly dribbling, chewing on her fist, getting very upset when feeding, moving her dummy around the sides of her mouth to chew & is much much more irritable than she's been previously.
All teething toys are designed for babies that can hold things which she can't do yet. I've brought a tommee tippee soother that's similar to a dummy and that sometimes helps her.
We've given her calpol but she can only have 2 x doses in 24 hours so once is wears off she's miserable again, I'm not thrilled to be giving it to her at all but it's really helped her feed pain free.

Is there ANYTHING else I can do to help her? It's so horrible hearing her cry and not being able to make it better.

Hi, I am in the same boat , with an early teether! ( 12 weeks old) . My first child didnt teeth til nearer 10 months so they are all different... I totally recommend the teething powder ,nelsons teething powders , you can get them in supermarkets
Also , as you say they are too little to hold a ring so I bought this little teething mit from Amazon its called a gummee mit . Its a great little invention as you just strap it on their hand and they can chew on the little taggies that hang off it. It looks like a little boxing glove , so cute :)

SmallBee - glad this helped x :) my routine was bath to warm them and calm down, then a sachet of teething powder whilst getting dressed then bottle then into cot with a bit of teething gel on their dummy to soothe before bedtime x teething can be such a nightmare, its really just a case of try n see what works for you :) Plus remember you can use baby nurofen along with the Calpol ( alternating them) x

smallbee I'm in the same boat with my DD - 10 weeks yesterday. Glad I'm not the only one. The local mums group all said she's too young but at her drs appt she said it was definitely teething.

She's been generally irritable all the time apart from at 4am when she seems to have a giggle fit??!!!? 4am!?!

weetea thank you, I've been trying to remember the name of the powders for days! We sold a lot of those in the pharmacy I used to work in. I also never thought to put gel on the dummy Xmas Smile
