Could anyone share their 9 month olds routine, as in naps/meals/milk and also what your nap/bedtime routine is? I am feeling a little lost! Thank you.

Hi!
My ds is 8 months so a bit behind you, we do
Wake up 7:30
Breakfast 9:00
Nap 11:00
Lunch 13:00
Nap 15:00
Dinner 17:30
Bath, bedtime story etc
Bed 18:30

Having said that we stopped night feeds on Friday and now he's teething and has a cold so we're all over the place! This was working pretty well though!

I do not have a routine with my 9mo DS, it has never crossed my mind to stick to one.Confused I am quite lazy.

I do have a bedtime routine, around a similar time each evening.

Other than that,I just feed/play/put down for a nap on demand.

My DS is just coming up to 9 months. We do:
06:45 wake up
07:00 milk (6 oz)
09:15 nap (40 mins)
10:30 breakfast
12:30 snack
13:00 nap (1 hrs)
14:30 lunch
15:30 milk (3/4 oz)
17:00 nap (30 mins)
18:00 dinner
19:30 milk (6 oz)
20:15 bed

He naps either in his pram/in the car on the way to/from places or else in a rocking chair with white noise. He's still cuddled to sleep and put down asleep and we still have multiple night wakings so.sometimes we co-sleep

Bottle in bed at first waking - usually about 6.30 - then back to sleep
Up for the day somewhere between 8 and 9; breakfast shortly after
Nap around 11 (start time varies based on when she got up)
Lunch around 1
Attempt at second nap begins sometime between 3 and 4 (this often fails)
Tea about 5
Bath on at 6.15, milked up and in bed by 7.

It sounds fairly relaxed now, but I spent the first eight months in a constant state of low level fretting over timings!

DS2 is coming up for 9m

Day begins about 4.15 - sometimes I can feed him back down to a doze but often not, so usually up by 5
6am breakfast (mashed rusk and raw porridge in milk)
8am breastfeed
9-10.30ish nap (he falls asleep in the buggy on the school run and I stick him outside in the garden when we get back)
Breastfeed
11.30 lunch - usually whatever the older DCs are having
12.30 - 2 nap
3pm snack - usually yogurt or fruit
4pm breastfeed
5pm supper - again, whatever the older DCs are having though I usually mash it up and spoonfeed
6pm breastfeed and bed

Then feeds through the night - a good night is 8pm, 10pm, 12, 1.30, 3, 4.

8 1/2 month DS.

7-7.30 ish - awake and milk
8ish - breakfast
10 - milk followed by 30 min nap, or sometimes naps before
12.30 - 1 ish - lunch then sleep for an hour or two
4 - milk
6ish - dinner
7 - bath, bottle and bed then generally sleeps through. Sometimes wakes up early morning and ends up in bed with us as he will then go back to sleep.

Doesn't always work this way - sometimes he won't go to sleep in the morning until much later so then he is still wide awake after lunch and won't sleep then.

9 1/2 mo DD

6.30ish wakes, dressed, teeth cleaned
7ish milk (7oz)
8ish nap
9.30ish brekkie
11ish milk (6oz)
12.30ish lunch
1.30ish nap (if we're lucky)
3ish milk (6oz)
5ish tea
6.30 bath, bottle (7oz), bed by 7pm and down for the night.

She still has lots of milk and is not the best at eating, although this is improving. She's on the 91st centile and shows no sign of dropping her milk, although we have decreased from 4 x 8oz feeds.

I think we will try to combine milk with meals at some point, probably when she turns 1.

9 month old routine is as follows:

  • 6-7am wake up : milk feed of 6/7oz, dressed for the day, then playtime.
  • 8:30-9am : breakfast (solids)
  • 9:30-10am : down for a nap (after approx 3 hours awake time), usually 1-1.5 hour nap
  • 11am - 11:30: wake up from nap, playtime or outdoor activity
  • 11:30/12 - lunch (solids), then playtime or outdoor activity
  • 1:30/2 - milk feed 6/7 oz
  • 2/2:30 - down for a nap, usually 1.5 to 2 hours
  • 3:30/4 : awake and play
  • 4:45/5:15: dinner (solids)
  • 6/6:30: bath, bottle (6/7 oz) and bedtime routine
  • 6:30/7: down for the night (*no night feeds).

We try to keep to similar times each day, even if out and about. DD loves the routine and likes to remind us that we are late if we deviate by 30 minutes! 😂. The feed and sleep consistency definitely help to induce good sleep. They know what’s coming next and actually want to go to sleep, which saves a lot of hassle.
