My daughter is 15 months and when she doesn't get her own way she will kick and scream and sometimes grab your face, i just sit her on the floor and walk away from her but i dont feel this is doing enough... Does anyone have any tips on how to control the situation?

Thanks

You are doing fine.

Once she calms down have a cuddle.

Try to avoid situations where it occurs, distraction can work well at that age.

Agree with cindy about distraction, dangling the 'shiny shiny' of something different can stop tears and tantrums instantly while they eye up what else you have on offer (even when their face is red and they're in the middle of pounding the floor).

At this age, I think your best bet is to watch her and try and pre-empt the tantrum (look for her signs) by distraction/change of room etc before she melts down, that way you can hopefully minimise her tantrums (which she herself will find a bit scary, having such strong emotions and not being able to express herself other than screaming/grabbing etc).
