My DM loves Spain and has been trying hard to learn Spanish by doing a weekly course near her (for nearly a year). Unfortunately the teacher doesn't seem to be much good (speaks mainly English!!) and my mum is getting on a bit 
so still struggling with her numbers and with fairly basic phrases. Can any of you recommend a good DVD that covers the basics in a straightforward way? I've shown her how some films she likes have a Spanish language track so she's been doing some of that. I would be grateful for any other recommendations.
