Does anyone have any bright ideas as to what DS(8) can dress up in tomorrow please? I've been spectacularly shit and I completely forgot that it's non uniform day and kids are to dress up as a pantomime character. I have no clue. To make matters worse, the dressing up stuff has been moved to the loft and I can't be arsed it's too late to find it. So, using items I'm likely to find around the house - what could he be?

oh golly.... erm... does he have a similarly sized sister whose dress he could borrow and be an ugly step-sister? Grin

wear all brown/black/grey and make a tail out of something and be a pantomime horse?

bundaberg · 04/12/2013 22:35

wear green and be the beanstalk from jack and the beanstalk?

clarinsgirl · 04/12/2013 22:35

No DD I'm afraid. Tail is a good idea though... scurries off to find a tail...

Beanstalk (all green) or jack (just with some beans??)
Dick Whittington (attach a tea towel to a broom to carry over his shoulder) or dick whittingtons cat (ears on a hairband and tail made from stuffed tights)

bundaberg · 04/12/2013 22:36

shirt, trousers, boots, stick with cloth tied on the end... dick whittington

You two are brilliant, thanks. Have plenty of dried pulses. Jack it is. Thanks

Puss in boots

Jack and the bean stalk, any slightly old fashioned farm boy clothes, 5 beans and or a toy cow.

Captin hook, Peter Pan is hard if he doesn't like green.
A lost boy (they're red Indian style costume if I remember
rightly)

Prince Charming.

The hunts man from Snow White is easy, he just needs a cardboard axe. (And a heart drown in a paper plate if you want to be gory)

A dwarf is a possibility if you have a Santa hat lying around.

Thanks Starballbunny - I may incorporate a cardboard axe (Jack did chop down the beanstalk didn't he?). I love Mumsnet.
