Why is she yelling?

I have a 5 month old who yells, she doesn't seem upset or excited, it seems to be just a neutral noise. Just a loud, long, "Ahhhhhhhh" She did it all the way round the shops the other day Confused

What's she doing? I'm not concerned as she doesn't seem to be upset, just curious!

She's finding her voice! Annoying, isn't it?

This too shall pass...

Does that mean she's going to communicate like this until she can speak? That may get a little annoying, yes Grin

No, it'll probably just last for a few weeks until something else becomes the new exciting thing to do.

Mine was quite shouty around that age! Not crying or anything just quite loud shouts. She still likes to impress her presence on the world.

My ds is 6 months and was the same just made constant noise for a few weeks when he found his voice, he quieter now but has just found that if he puts his lips together he can make an ummmm noise!

She likes it if we yell back (obviously not loud) it's quite sweet, like she's learning to converse. Glad it's normal, she's been babbling for a while but this is new!

Our ds does this at the moment but it's more like a high pitched squeal. Less annoying than the fake coughing noise when he's annoyed with something! I much prefer the raspberries though. I know it's him just finding his voice - be nice if ma ma comes out soon Grin
