What time does your 2 year old go to bed?

Just that really. DS is usually in bed between 7-730 but seems to be taking ages to actually go to sleep.

At first I thought he might need to drop his nap but now I am wondering if he is overtired?

Between 5 and 5.30, no naps in the day.

She gets tired around 3pm, so by 5 I'm normally having to keep her up. If we go past about 6ish she gets over tired and it's harder to get her to sleep.

18mo DS 6.30pm, 3yo DD 7.30pm.

At 2yo her bedtime was 7pm. No naps unfortunately

SpookedMackerel · 23/11/2013 20:03

Between 7 and 7.30. No nap.

bigkidsdidit · 23/11/2013 20:21

Mine still naps 90 minutes a day at 2.10. He did the 'taking ages to sleep' thing but rather than drop his nap I increased his exercise and made him walk everywhere, soft play a lot etc. I think it's bought me a few more months of nap! Back to falling asleep quickly now.

Artandco · 23/11/2013 20:23

9pm. However still naps and doesn't get up until 8/9am. Suits us as we don't eat until 7.30/8pm

MrsS1980 · 23/11/2013 20:28

During the week we start his routine between 7 and 7.30. He is 2 and 4 months. Asleep by 8 / 8.30 depending on whether or not it is bath night. We are out the house by 7.30 am during the week, weekends he sleeps in if we bring him in with us for a cuddle. No nap.

fishybits · 23/11/2013 20:34

DD still naps up to 3 hours a day and still sleeps between 12-14 hours a night. She's 22 months.

nextphase · 23/11/2013 20:37

2 and a half.
7.30 tonight. Needed to be earlier. Its around 7 weekends when he hasn't napped.

More like 8 or 8.30 when he has napped at nursery.

Ledkr · 23/11/2013 20:40

7-7.30 sometimes earlier if not had a nap in the day.

superzero · 23/11/2013 20:42

RandallFloyd · 23/11/2013 20:44

SuperDuperTrooper · 23/11/2013 20:55

Lights out by 8. Usually asleep by 8.30 give or take 15 mins.

bordellosboheme · 23/11/2013 20:57

Ds is 2 yo and goes to sleep around 8.30 to 9 pm. He naps for an hour or 2 most days. He wakes up around 6am. That men's he only sleeps 10 - 12 hrs per day.

iHateMrTumble · 23/11/2013 20:57

Do you wait untill he is asleep?
ds goes down at 7 but i've no idea how long hes awake for I dontcheck on him till after Emmerdale at least.

LadyMetroland · 23/11/2013 21:11

My dd2 is 2.5 and shares a room with 4yo dd1.
They get into beds and lights out after enormous amounts of faffing at 7.20 on a good night and 8 on a bad night.

dd2 naps 1.5hrs after lunch but I'm reluctantly cutting it to 1hr as she isn't very tired at bedtime.

Smartiepants79 · 23/11/2013 21:15

At 2 and a half my daughter went to bed by 7:30. Could chat for half an hour to herself. Stopped napping at around this age.

WhispersOfWickedness · 23/11/2013 21:17

Mine goes to bed at about 7. Up at 5.30 at the moment though Hmm She has a nap for about an hour, but really fights that Sad

WillSingForCake · 23/11/2013 21:32

7pm, and sleeps through til around 7.30am. Has a nap between 2-4pm most days.

loveroflife · 24/11/2013 13:07

If no naps in day 6.30pm and will sleep until 7am.

If a nap - 7.30pm and sleeps until 7am.

I find that if the afternoon nap is later than 1 (he sleeps for an hour/1hr30) then he wants to go to bed later. He needs about 5 hours from afternoon nap to be really tired for bed (and that's normally doing some sort of physical activity, park, soft play etc).

Is he still having a nap? If so don't let it go on to late into the afternoon as that may be why he's not going to sleep at 7pm.

If no nap, maybe bring bed forward to 6.30 - this is presuming he wakes at 7am and sleeps though - he surely must be ready for bed then with no nap and a 12 hour day?
