Fuzzi Bunz - opinions please?

Hi there,

Anyone have any strong views one way or the other on fuzzi bunz? I currently have tots bots fluffles and sandys but have been looking at a slimmer and easier alternative for going under nice outfits and an easier option (i.e no seperate nappy and wrap) for carers (dh and grandma etc)? any advice?

Also what do you use to stuff them? I read somewhere about microfibre cloths.. do you just fold them in half and would that suffice? do you need bigger for night etc?

Do they stain much? I am breastfeeding and dd is one month old.

Thanks in advance ...

they're fantastic. would highly recommend. I use the mother of eden inserts which are brilliant

Loved the look of them and the feel, must be supercomfy to wear unfortunately DD1 was a heavy wetter and they leaked no matter what I stuffed them with so I sold them on, am very sad about going back to disposables loved my reusables but when DD2 came along it was too much for me.

I have a love/hate relationship with my Fuzzi Bunz. I think 80% of the time they are great, really easy etc. The rest of the time they do annoy me as they don't seem to fit when ds has a growth spurt which means they then leak or fall off as the popper settings aren't quite right. I am going to buy the next size up though as I have the inserts already and in the winter they have been good because of the quick drying time. They also come in some funky colours and are a good show off nappy .

Mine have stained slightly but they really need a day on the line outside and they will be fine again. I do sometimes use a paper liner inside (important if you use nappy cream) which helps protect them.

Thanks a lot for this, what do you stuff with bagpuss? if you don't mind my asking

Just use the Fuzzi Bunz/Mother of Eden inserts (2 at a time). I have 4 fuzzis in my (ever expanding) nappy collection - Navy, Baby Blue, Orange and Olive Green. Think I'll stick to primary type colours next time as the blue and green ones aren't very cheerful - there are some pretty colours for girls though.

BonyM · 12/07/2006 21:02

I have one, and I only ever use it towards the end of the day if dd needs a nappy change within an hour of bedtime. If it's on much longer than that I just know it will leak.

Dh also hates it - thinks there are just too many poppers!

For a pocket nappy, I much prefer Happy Heinys (gorgeous, gorgeous prints and dh likes the velcro!), and have also found Bumgenius to be very reliable and easy to use (although I know some other mnetters have experienced leaks with them).

mammaemma · 12/07/2006 21:24

BonyM I am intrigued !! Happy heinys do look great.. you find them better? and what do you stuff those with?

I much prefer them to Fuzzis, although they are still not as reliable as a shaped nappy plus wrap. Will last for about 3hrs thoug, without a leak.

I stuff with one Hemparoo joey bunz insert plus two folded microbfibre cloths.

i use fuzzis and was completly sold on them till i went on a spending spree and got a load of different 2 piece nappies. they are good and slim, but mine do seem to leak around the legs occassionally (saying that though i only use one insert and they last nearly 3 hours)i prefer the twinkle micro fibre inserts to the MOE ones as there hourglass shaped, but tescos micro fibre cloths work just as well. colour wise perwinkle and aqua are very nice. As is hot pink for a girl. Does anybody else think that the brighter colours seem to be cut slightly smaller then the others though?
