Parties and etiquette

My daughter is just starting to be invited to parties. She's not been to many (2 since being at nursery, she's 3.5). But she now has an invite from 2 little girls she gets on we'll with in the same day : o (. One party is 2-4 pm and the other is 3-5 pm. Is it acceptable to go to both but arrive at the second late? Or should I stick to the one?

No - etiquette is that you should accept only one or the other and send polite regrets to the one you don't go to.

How annoying. I think I would probably stick to one.

If you wanted to do both, I would commit to the first one, and say to the mother of the second one something along the lines of "I'm so sorry but I've committed daughterwillthisworknow to Sophia's party which ends at 4. Shall I bring daughterwillthisworknow along then, or would that be too much of a pain for you. I understand that you might not want someone turning up half way through" See what she says. Maybe other nursery children are in this position too.

Mind you will have to buy two presents, and your Dd sit through two birthday teas. Much easier just to go to one.
