Fleas? Scabies? Advice needed

Hello

Sorry if this isn't the best thread to ask this question on. My family has something weird causing bites and itching and I'm desperate for advice. I'm suffering the worst - for about a week itching throughout the day and worst at night, tingling sensations all over and also distinct bites on lower leg, neck and arms. Yesterday I noticed my little 2 year old had bites on her face and shoulder and her dad also started to get the general itching/tingling but no bites. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

We went to the GP and are trying permethrin cream in case its scabies as its gone from just me to my boyfriend/daughter and my boyfriends symptoms do sound like scabies. But the bites don't really corrolate with scabies. Also my daughter doesn't appear to be itchy.

We also got pest control in as I started freaking out it was bed bugs (the bites seem to happen at night in bed) and they found nothing but suggested it could be fleas. I think my symptoms do look like flea bites. We don't have pets but I have been around friends who have cats with fleas who've bitten me at their house so its conceivable our flat got infested that way. BUT I've not seen a single flea in our flat since all this started. We've also hoovered everything including bed/sofa and washed clothes/bedding/fabrics and I still have new bites. I can't help thinking if it was fleas causing this we'd of seen at least one??

Right now we're tackling this as if it was scabies and fleas and basically I'm starting to feel completely mental. I'd be so grateful if anyone has any remotely relevant advice.

Thanks

P

Humans don't carry Pet fleas, I can't imagine you brought fleas home with you. Sorry I don't know about scabies. When do the new bites appear?

Fleas can live in the carpet under floor boards in holes etc for ages if you have recently moved in the dormant eggs will have reacted to your body heat and hatched
I've got a zoo at home and everyone is de-flea'd regularly using good treatments but that didn't stop a Tom wandering in after my Queen and leaving me with a flea infestation which happened almost over night
Also they always seemed more "bitey" at night
Keep treating for scabies if your doctor tells you to as i have never come across it im afraid
I would strongly advise either letting off a few flea bombs (avoid at all costs if asthmatic or any respiratory problems i speak from experience) or get the exterminator back in to treat for fleas
He cost me £40 for 5 rooms and hallway couldn't walk on the floor for 30 minutes and not allowed to vacuum for 2 weeks haven't seen one since and he treated back in spring :)

Scabies doesn't show up as bites. It usully only itches at night and doesn't itch on the face for some strange reason. It doesn't sound like scabies.

Hello thanks all - we did the scabies cream and the only thing it helped with was stopping things biting me! It def isn't scabies and flea traps are showing nothing so I'm now going completely mad - have spent 2 days washing, hoovering, ventilating and still getting bites, on my back and shoulders, on my legs. My little girl is getting more bites too so we are trying indorex all over the flat tomorrow, I'll ask the GP again and I'll ring the pest control people again and ask them too - has anyone ever had anything like this? We've all got tiny little bumps on our skin, then the bites look like flea bites - little red dots v itchy and I've got some welty type ones too. We haven't seen a single creature, no spiders, no bugs, no fleas nothing. If the bites were'nt so visible I would actually think I was mental.
