Ear piercing in 8yo

I have given in & said yes....after 3 long years of her begging. I'm happy that she's going to be careful & cleanse etc as she's 8 going on 28! I'm being choosy about DTD however & have found that some places (beautician's are the only places which seem to offer it) recommend god for 6/52 & some titanium. Anyone have any experience? Had mine done age 8 many moons ago in a hairdresser's & it was gold studs then....

I would go to a professional piercing studio

I had mine done years ago too. Gold studs, TCP and lots of twizzling IIRC.

Just check what school rules are. DD had to have hers done at the start of the school holidays as they are not allowed to leave them in for PE.

Some schools let them tape over them, some don't

Agree about checking school rules; plus they have to come out completely for swimming usually.
Sorry can't help you with metal questions; we went with whatever they suggested & no regrets.

You are not supposed to have actual gold to start off with. It's too soft and it increases the chances of infection because they get little scratches and grooves. I would go to a piercing place.

We got DDs done in a Claire's Accessories (4th attempt at her insistence, every other time we got to the shop and she changed her mind).

They were great, did both ears at the same time and she didn't even flinch. I'm not sure what the studs were but they were silver coloured with little gems in and the safety backs. They were £25 alone!
