I never wear makeup and look like Morticia Adams pretty much all the time but that's not really a result of having kids, that's just me anyway.
I'm always tired even if the kids sleep through. So much so in fact I'm thinking of asking to be tested for iron levels and thyroid function.
Dh and I rarely have sex, mainly because I've completely lost my libido since dd was born and because of the damage her birth did to my body.

My life is getting better now though; my confidence as a mother is returning and I'm working more so am getting out of the debt I got into during my mat leave with dd. The kids are getting older and therefore more independent and less needy which means I feel less claustrophobic and hemmed in. Because they're both older and fully weaned I don't spend all day cleaning up vomit from my hair, clothes and the floor and their poo is more solid. On a good day they only fill one nappy each; it's great, almost liberating not having to change shitty nappy after shitty nappy!

Getting out of the house is easy; their bags are always full/packed with enough nappies, wipes and spare clothes; I no longer need milk, bottles and feeding equipment; ds can be trusted to walk safely and sensibly as well as carry his own bag so I only have go carry dd and her bag to the car and because both dc like going out I don't have to fight them to get coats and shoes on.

Motherhood for me has been and is still very up and down but the good days are now outnumbering the bad. And that makes me feel better.

Another one on board here! Smile
'drowning in a sea of to-do lists' is the way I once put it during a tearful rant to dh
Thanks mumofboyo for the reassurance that it does get easier.
And as for having sex - I'm impressed anyone does it at all, never mind with any regularity.

Love my dd to the bloomin' moon and back though.

It gets easier! Sometimes I do the school run now with mascara on, brushed hair and decent clothes Smile Sometimes I don't manage make-up and resemble a corpse. But the human days mostly outweigh the corpse days now. I think.
