Have shouted, asked nicely, whispered it, demanded it, ignored it... you name it I tried.

It's the bloody dinner table again.......I've already had my dinner so was pottering about around them (certainly not leaving them to it) and it's just constant.
"he's got more than me"
"I want that"
"he won't let me have that"
"he's has that many...I want that"
"I don't want it"
"I want more of that"
"can I get down"
"I want a yoghurt"

repeat all several times for 30 minutes. They only had pizza FGS!!

I honestly had to bite my tongue so as not to say "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!"

I hate this mothering lark at times.

i've just had this as well at the table.. it drives me nuts.

All I've had from ds aged 6 and dd aged 3 was

''he's looking at me'
she's touched my dinner'
'muuum will you stop her'
I don't want this'

I can't wait until they are both in bed which they will be by 7. I don't bloody care if its hot and the 5yr old down the road is still playing in her garden they are going...

MrsGerrard · 04/07/2006 18:58

Will they stay there though?

If mine went at this time they'd be up by 3am!

sheepgomeep · 04/07/2006 19:01

mine normally go to bed at this time anyway. they get up at around 6-7

Kaz33 · 04/07/2006 19:45

And my 4 and 3 year old, after nights of late bedtimes and fighting and getting out of bed - tonight i fed them at 4.30pm, then took them to playground for 45 minutes and they have happily gone off pre 7.30pm. Aaaargh

VeniVidisco · 04/07/2006 19:47

Agree, with poussin.

SoupDragon · 04/07/2006 19:47

Rule in the Dragon House: Once they've gone to bed they do not come downstairs again. Sometimes they're lucky to come down again in the morning.

sunnydelight · 04/07/2006 19:51

Also have dragon rule. If they know you mean it it does work, honest!

LadyTophamHatt · 04/07/2006 19:51

he's been asleep but obv woke up saw it was still light out and assumed it was the enxt day.

I'm sure I do listen poisson, coz i hear every single annoying little snipe they do at each other. even if they are upstairs I can still hear them....I think I need to learn not to listen.

Will start that book you lent me again ....start it all over again. Bloody summer holidays just around the corner and I'm fearing for my sanity already.

Same as soupy here, once in bed they are not coming down unless their bedroom is on fire!!!

I know how you feel LTH, mine are like that every day and I know becasue we are pregnant it is even harder but sometimes I do wonder whether I will get through the day without shouting.
Of course it hasn't happened yet

LadyTophamHatt · 04/07/2006 19:56

I'm very very strict with bed. once they are in bed...they stay in or risk the wrath of mad psycho mother.

This appaerance was very unusual for him.....but it still bloody annoyed me!
Ds2 will be be fast fast asleep.

told them both that tomoorw I want them to treat me like they treat their teachers. If the teacher says stop that they stop, if they say do that they do it, tidy it they tidy.....tomorrow I am the teacher.....fed up with being the bloody mother, i want a new job.

magnolia1 · 04/07/2006 19:57

Awww hun, do you ever wonder why we are doing it all over again soon?

pecka · 04/07/2006 20:00

This rule. If you dare to come down or else.......or else what? What are you supposed to do if they do to teach them you mean it?

DD is no bother in this respect but DS (3 in sep) is a bugger for staying when he is put to bed.

fennel · 04/07/2006 20:03

i put mine in the naughty corner if they come down, or yell, or any other misbehaviour after bedtime. dd1 is there now. then they go back to bed. usually they go more quietly after a spell in the sin bin.

all 3 have been yelling away tonight, these warm light evenings aren't helping.

poisson · 04/07/2006 20:38

lth is hteere any chance of bookign them int o a hliday club once a week?
