Hi all

Just after other peoples experiences of having baby no 3 please. I cant decide if it is a good idea and have finally persuaded DH to go for it and now I've got cold feet. Really confused, please advise :)

I had baby no. 3 (some years ago, now!) when dc1 was 10, and dc2 was 8. The large gap, though not deliberate, meant I was so much more relaxed about everything 3rd time round, so am very pro! I'm not sure I could have managed three under 5, like some of my friends! What will the gap between yours be, and what's given you cold feet?
I would say go for it. Once the idea's in your head, I reckon you'll regret it if you don't try! Smile

I had 3 under 5. Very happy to have a family of 3 but don't believe those who tell you it's no more work. Partly that's balancing the needs of 2 schoolgirls with a 1 year old, (DH and my mantra at the moment is 'in a year it will be easier again') but it's also the vast quantity of food that needs to be made every day and the tons of washing that needs to be done and the constant cleaning of a house that never really seems to get tidy (and I have a cleaner!). I get up early, stay up late and don't stop all day.

My 3 are now 3, 6 and 9.

DC3 is the most difficult personality. She can be a real brat and can have more tantrums in a day than DS has had in his life.

You think by no. 3 you know what you are doing, I'm now sure it was just luck with the other 2!

Loved having DC3 when Ds1 was three and DS2 nearly 2.... She was a cab baby.
It all started getting a lot harder when she could move and talk... Now she is by far the hardest work! They are 9, 8 and 6 now.
My life never stops. One long round of taxi driving, cooking, washing and logistics.
However I love it! My boys were away for today's at my mums this week and by god we missed them ....it was so quiet.
My advices to go for it. What are the other DCs ages?
