Gina Ford Training in one week.

Why does it say in the gina ford book to sit them on the potty for 5-10 mins?
My ds is ready in every other way but there is no way he will sit for that long,once hes done a wee or a poo he cannot wait to take a look.

I think it must mean no longer than 5-10 min ie if they haven't gone in that time they can get off. Of course they can get off once they've weed!
