Siblings room sharing when and how?

I have dd1 2.8 and dd2 7months, just wondering about room sharing and how others work it out. Currently dd2 is in our room in a travel
cot as we recently swapped bedrooms around and no space for full size cot. The idea is that dd's are supposed to be sharing however there is something niggling me not to even though I'm not keen on dd2 being in the travel cot much longer.

When did your dc's start sharing and how well did it work out? Any tips/suggestions? DD2 is not yet sleeping through and currently dd1 wakes once a week ish and can be up anywhere between 5-7.

Our dc shared a room from when they were 3.7 and 0.7. It worked really well from day one and neither seemed to wake the other up.

Dd was 0.7 and in a cot and ds was in a single bed. Dd only woke occasionally and ds was still waking a lot, very bad sleeper, but didnt affect each other. They loved it as they got older and although have separate rooms now are still very close.

Have two DCs (DD 3 yrs and DS 5yrs). Despite both having their own rooms DD has now decided she wants to sleep in the same room as DS. She has slept on a mattress under his cabin bed for the last few weeks. They are getting on so well now and it's lovely to hear them chattering away in the morning. May be looking to make it a more permanent move!

My dd now age 4 and 7 share. They started sharing when youngest was about 1 and we wanted her out of our room! Dd1 not a good sleeper but didn't seem to bother dd2 and they now enjoy the company- they snore in unison too!!!! I was concerned about how it would go and have been pleasantly surprised. Hope your two enjoy it too x

Oh thanks this has reassured me a lot! I am more concerned of dd1 waking dd2 tbh she is generally up much earlier than dd2, if she wakes her at that point I end up with a grouchy baby all morning - she likes her sleep more than dd1! Also slightly concerned dd1 might try and climb in the cot Hmm.
