First night away from DD! She's 1 in 2 weeks... It's killing me to think she won't wake up to us in the morning and I won't see her face 1st thing! She'll think we've abandoned her!

How old were your kids when you first had a night away without them?

With both dvd, about 6 weeks.
With ds we left him with my sister and caught up with some sleep.
With dd we had no choice; we moved house. It was the coldest night of the year so far and we had no gas. She had just come out of hospital having had a chest infection and we thought that spending two nights in a really cold, damp house would make her worse.
Since birth really, they've spent the night away about 1x a month.

She will be fine Smile.I was exactly the same with my DS 1 when he first stayed out and the second!third!and fourth ect,Winkit's natural to worry!but she will definitely not think you have abandoned her and when you see what a lovely time she has had you will feel a lot happier. It does get a bit easier each time, and the time apart will be good for both you and your DD.My DS1 was 3months when he first stayed with my mum and I hated every minute of being away from him and didn't enjoy at all,but my mum was more than capable of looking after him and he was fine.I bet your daughter has been spoilt rotten and had a brilliant time.
