One Life Nappies - has anyone used them

I'm expecting baby number 2 in Sept and have decided to be a lot more environmentally friendly this time, just wondered if anyone had used One Life Nappies and what their experiences were of reuseable nappies in general - thanks for any advice.

I haven't used the nappies, but I've used the wraps. Not as good as MotherEase wraps IMHO, though they do the job. But reusable nappies are great! Is there any reason you're thinking of One Life in particular? I ask because I really think the best plan is to buy (2nd hand) a few different types - a shaped (like Tots Bots) a one-size (like Motherease or One Life?) a pocket (like happy heiny or fuzzibunz), a pre-fold (Cotton Bottoms or Bambino Mio), perhaps a Bamboozle too, with two wraps (small or even newborn - you can always sell them on) and see what you think of each. Different babies suit different nappies and your washing/drying requirements also have to be factored in. IME it's impossible to tell until you actually put the nappy to bum to washing machine! And it's loads of fun trying them out...

I really like Onelife but came to them late, so have no experience of them with newborns. They are fab for containment and are very absorbant (more so than motherease IMO) but as the previous poster said, do try a few different ones to see what suits. One of the great things about cloth is the variety, everyone prefers something different but they all work, really.

There are a few companies that do a hire service that you can use once your LO has arrived (you hire a selection of different nappies for 2 weeks and buy more of the ones you like), check here for some links.

Thanks everyone - I am meeting with an advisor from Lollipop next week so hope to go through all the different options with her.

The reason why I like onelife is my Sister in Law has tried carious kinds on her daughter and she recommends onelife, but as I said I will see how it goes next week.

Thanks again

Well DD2 is now 6 months, I did have a few problems to begin with but I think that was just because I was getting used to them - never had any leaks for back crawlers (yet!) but have done with disposable!

Have to admit to using diposable at night time or when we;re out but I still feel this is better than using them full time - you never know I might even go the whole hog soon.

Anyway just wanted to say thanks to you all for your advice.

Onelife wraps and ME airflow wraps are almost identical. The OL wraps are slightly more breathable, I seem to remember. They also have an OEKO TEx (sp) certificate which guarantees them to be free from chemical residues.

Fit is exactly the same as they are the same design.
