I love my DP with my entire soul but I find mornings sooooo much easier when he has started work early.

He is a prison officer and works really hard to support us but when he is with us for the school run, chaos ensues.

He insists on spending forever on the toilet in the morning (after getting up an hour and a half after myself and DD5 and DS3) so inevitably I only have about 8 minutes to get ready myself (having spent the last 90 minutes washing, dressing, breakfasting kids, doing lunch box for DD, putting on washing etc etc) winds both children up with rough play before we have to leave so I have to redo DDs hair and calm DS3 so he will walk sensibly. He then wonders why I am so stressed by the time we get to school, luckily never late.....I think I would die of shame if we were late!!

Just curious as to whether any other mums have this. Or is it just me going slightly crazy?!

Don't have this but my first thought is why don't you explain that he's disrupting a valuable routine and suggest ways he could actually help. Also, why does he get an extra 90 mins in bed?

I've tried explaining that to him but it just doesn't sink in! He seems to think that because he doesn't get to see us as often as he'd like in the mornings, he should run the show when he is. Bless.
He gets the extra time in bed in the mornings because I am a lighter sleeper (naturally I wake when the kids stir) and find it impossible to stay in bed once I'm awake. He also works 55-70 hours a week (I also work but only PT).
