Hi Luckylady, yes it is all coming back to me now! Didn't you have move to stay with your Mum before you had ds?

Well dd1 is 11 soon so I know exactly what you are going through there

Germany next - that will be different to Cyprus won't it - or am i getting confused! (geography is just as bad as my memory lol!) I don't know how you manage it, moving country every two years - I go potty if I have to move across town!

We are all well - yes I have 4 and no I am not considering number 5 My advice would be to go for a number 3 (and 4) but I am biased When do you think you would like to have another? Is this a long term plan or iminant? Ooh, I would love to have an excuse to tread the pregnancy boards again!

Hi securmummy,
Yes I did live with my mam whilst I was pg with DS.

If we are to go for number it will have to be soon as I dont want a big age gap again. We have tried to fit car seat s and a booster seat for DD in the back of the car and it is a no go.... so we will have to get a new car.. How do people manage it with out buying an MPV espeacially with this new law coming in on under s been in a booster.
i wouldnt even class ours as a small car as we have an Xtrail....

SO we need to look into which car would support all our needs and with a big enough boot to fit the dog...

Germany will be different from Cyprus yes.. alot cooler for a start.. It is great holiday weather but not good for general living.

DS is going for a n eye test tommorrow, DD is having her plaster cast redone, and I have an MRI... what a busy bunch we are..

Just babbling now will post tommorow. We are hrs ahead hear so it is midnight must go to bed...
Take care x

Helloooo - she echos into the wilderness!!

Hi LL - pleased that all is well and 'tis hard to believe that your posting to Cyprus is over and done with!

We are fine - DDs 1 & 2 lovely wee things and Number 3 due in October. Funny on the car front as we can get a booster, a proper Britax car seat thingy and a Maxi-Cosi infant see all in the back of my A-Class - which must be about half the size of your X-trail! Will need a new one early next year thou' when number 3 moves out of baby seat and into proper seat.

I have no real idea what anyone else from June '04 is upto. Zephyr had number 3 in April I think but was having big housing problems and hasn't been around for a few weeks now. Which doesn't bode well I would think.

Anyhoo toddle-pip!

Hi LL,

I have no advice about cars - other than, if you are getting a Zafira make sure you get Isofix child seats as they have a sliding bench middle seat, which means that when you have the seats strapped in you can't get into the back seats at all

luckylady · 02/07/2006 20:49

Hi, Gomez and Secur,

Things went ok on friday, should have the results from my MRI on Wednesday.

Will have to try the car thing again, DS seat is an isofix one at the mo, which I find wastes a good few inches on the side of the car.. I may sit int he middle instead of DD and see just how much room there really is I think she is just so used to having loads of room in the back that she doesnt want to sacrafice, oh and the fact she doesnt want me to have another baby!!!.

Gomez congrats on number three.

Have your year olds suddenly had a switch flicked in them, Scott seemed to turn two then hey no more peace and quiet, and escaping from everything.

Secure

We have an American Akita , I bought her whenDS was 7 months old and they get on great together, she will be 2 in October.. Must go for now
I am so glad we have amini thread again... havent been on mumsnet for months (since october I think!!) now I can start posting again..

SecurMummy · 02/07/2006 23:09

Can I ask what the MRI is for? I hope you get the results you want on Wednesday.

DD Doesn't want you to have another baby why not? (My eldest doesn't either - but dd2 would love it!)

DD3 now she is two has actually become quite lovely - she is a real proper person with moods and character and everything, but she is self possesed and confident so does not get all clingy and needy which is really nice - I am not sure I coudl manage a clingy child now

An Akita? Very nice!

I know what you mean about having a thread - kind of gives you a sense of belonging - although I have just hung around with no purpose pokeing my nose into everyone else's business

OP posts:
luckylady · 02/07/2006 23:17

The MRI was on my left knee and right ankle, the knee has played me up for about 15 years . In the ankle I tore both stes of ligaments 3 years ago playing netball and it still isnt right. I decided to ask for something to be done as by the end of the netball season , my knee and ankle were getting worse and I was not able to play matches to my full potental!!.

DD is just not a baby person, she says she loves Scott and that is enough for her, she also comes out with , "Dont have another as that is another person for me to leave and miss when I have to go and see daddy". I have said to her that the decision will come form DH and I in the end and she will be fine. She wasnt happy when I was pg with Scott but changed her mind once knew it waqs a boy. TBH OI think she is frightened I will have a girkl and she will be pushed out.... which I keep reasurring her would not happen as she will alsways be my little girl no matter what...

We will just have to watch this space..
I have just been round to see my friend who had a baby on Wednesday, the babs is gorgeous, it made me really broody....

SecurMummy · 02/07/2006 23:26

Aww, poor dd, that is really nice. At least she has some articulate reasoning behind it, which means that it is something you can work with.

I know what you mean about feeling broody! I saw a tiny baby the other day and melted into that jibbering jelly lump that I always hated whenever I had a small baby

WE have had a nightmare with DD over the last 8months, it started in November she went for a walk with my friend and her dogs and went over on her ankle, she was fine at first then 4hrs later started to limp and hour later was screaming saying she couldnt weight bare and it hurt. I took her to the local Civilian hospital in Larnaca (this was friday night)and they told me there was nothing wrong, luckily they gave me the xrays to bring home, on Monday she could only put her toes down, so I tiook her to opur doc who said he would send the xrays of for the orthopedic consulsant to look at but he couldnt see anythink obvious so to traet like a sprain. So I had DD trying to walk, stand on one foot and jump a little, only to get a phone call on the Wrednesday from the orthopedic clinic telling me to ger her straight over as she had a small fracture to both sides of the ankle joint. Did I feel guilty or What. She was put in plaster, 4 weeks later the plaster came of and she was good. 3 weeks later playing football she went over and did her ligaments in took her 1week to weight bare. Then she was oK,

then begining of may DS fell over at creche had loads of xrays etc as he didnt walk for 2.5weeks, he had done his ligaments in his ankle also!!. Tghen 3weeks ago I got a phonecall from school saying Nicole has hurt her self playing cricket!! so I went up there to find her foot really swollen and she couldnt weight bare or allow anyone to touch, oh yes she has fractured it twice again same leg but different place, this time she has fractured just under the ankle bone and one of her metatarsals (sp). I am going to get them to investigate as I think she has quite a bad weakness as she hant really been doing anythin to warrant hurting herself that much...

We do laugh though as she can do full on sparing at Kickboxing and or Taekwondo and nothing then walks and lo and behold she is in plaster again..

Sory for long post just thought I would let you know what had been going on.

Hope everyone is ok.... I have to r I will cry the doctor laughs at me all the time now when I go in!!!! they all know me iand the kids in the med center on first name basis!!!

SecurMummy · 03/07/2006 22:01

Wow - yes, that is quite a story! I am not surprised they know you all!

It will be interesting to see if they find anyting with dd's ankle as you say, it seems odd that she does such serious injury without any real cause. If she was just twisting a bit or pulling it you could understand - but twin fractures? Very odd IMO!

Everyone fine here - apart from me who has sinusitis so am a very grumpymummy at the mo

OP posts:
luckylady · 03/07/2006 22:04

Hope you feel better soon Secur.

DD seems a bit withdrawn over the last few days, not sure if it is ro do with her leg as she is bored. All her friends are of swimming all the time, or playing in the pools in the garden. Ours is sitting there I got it fillrd a few days before she fractured her leg. DH or I darent go in it incase she gets upset... it is sooo HOT...

SecurMummy · 03/07/2006 22:27

I will, off to docs tomorrow - I can't spend any more time growling at my children because my nose hurts

Poor DD - we got our pool ready for this weekend and everyone (including the neighbours children) spent almost all weekend in it - I should think she will be very cross if you get in it!

Today was so hot I was thiking of getting in - and that is increadible as that would involve my legs going out without trousers

Oh yes and the other neighbours children (who don't get on well with ours - or me ) got so jealous that Mum went out and bought them the same pool as ours today

Hi guys!!!!! I'm so glad to have found this thread - I was planning to start one up at the beginning of June before I disappeared into oblivion!

It's been a hellish few months which put a bit of a downer on Fin's 2nd birthday but we made it a good day anyway and I think he enjoyed himself which is the main thing! He got a bit shy and cried when we sang to him but then he bent down and bit a huge chunk out of the cake which gave us all a laugh! He's such a monster just now but so bloody cute with it and gets away with absolute murder. His speech has really picked up lately and some of the things he says are hilarious!

I had another DD on April 5th but because she was a bit unexpected I was quite depressed through the pregnancy and worried about what I was going to do with 3 of them - it is hard work but getting a bit easier. Then my Nan died because of a hospital 'mistake' when she was 6 weeks old and then our landlords gave us notice on our house so we are currently 'homeless' and waiting for help from the council...or anyone for that matter!! Right in the middle of all that the computer died - great few months!!!!

I'm glad to see everyone back here, I've missed our June thread! Congratulations Gomez!!!!!!!!!That's fantastic news

As for cars and car seats, we've got a peugeot 406 (i think!!) and we've got all 3 squeezed in the back - dd1 in a britax highliner, dd2 in a britax rock-a-tot deluxe and ds in an old britax seat which I have no idea of the model but is big and bulky and weighs a ton! They all fit in though, just!!!

Anyhow, hopefully this is me back now (until the moving begins!) Look forward to catching up with you all some more xxx

SecurMummy · 04/07/2006 23:58

Hey Zephyr!

Congratulations on new bub! I am so pleased - at this rate June 04 thread will become the Large Families thread

Sorry to hear you have been having a hard time - hope you get something sorted out on the housing front soon.

Look forward to chatting

Hiya Secur! Blimey it's been a while hasn't it?! We're definately heading for the large family thread.....no more for me though, ever ever ever!!! (Mind you I said that after DS!)

SecurMummy · 05/07/2006 00:08

It has been a long time! I have kept wondering how everyone was - it is so nice to catch up with a few!

How long do you think you have in your house now? Do the council think they have any chance at all of getting you something in time?

Can't wait for a good old gossip - havn't had a proper "cup of tea with elbows on the fence in the back yard" for ages

OP posts:
zephyrcat · 05/07/2006 00:15

I had to go and see a homeless advisor who said that she reckons the court process to get us out will give us 3 or 4 months so they are trying to get us something as close to where we are now as we can because I was really worried about DD as she starts 'big school' in september and is in the middle of going for all her visits etc so I really don't want to have to move her

Has there been anything going on in MN world to gossip about?!

SecurMummy · 05/07/2006 10:10

Well at least they are trying to help as best they can I guess!

DD1 is starting big school in September too - she is on a visit today and will be walking home - it is 25mins away [scardey overprotective parent emoticon]

Erm - well actually - I can't really think of any gossip....MN or otherwise - I am useless at gossip, I was realying on everyone else to get is started for me

DH says he wants to use condoms for now so we can discuss over the next few months about number 3, then he if no he will have the snip if yes he will have the snip after babs. I have said think thats resky as I can see baby 3 onthe way with in 2 months... as I know what will happen if we a re both drunk one night.... need I say more!!!!,,,
